Home to the Trackside flock of Shetland sheep, the Rowans is an old croft finding a new lease of life. As well as the sheep, you may find Scots Dumpy chickens, the working dogs Tay and Spot, and the horse Buddy. 

There is also a rich variety of native plants, inckuding two varieties of orchid, insects such as the smal blue butterfly, six-spot burnet moth and solitary bees, along with wild animals including rabbits and roe deer.
